JS Data Migration Tool
A CLI I wrote so nobody has to copy WordPress posts into Sanity by hand. It maps schemas, moves metadata and re-uploads every image.
Overview
A Node.js CLI tool for migrating WordPress content — posts, pages, media, and metadata — to Sanity CMS. Handles schema mapping between WordPress's data model and Sanity's document schema, and re-uploads images to Sanity's asset pipeline rather than leaving them pointing at the old WordPress CDN.
Problem
Placeholder — describe the client context: a site running on WordPress that needed to migrate to Sanity without losing post history, SEO metadata, or media assets. Manual migration was impractical at the content volume involved.
Solution
Placeholder — describe the implementation: how the WordPress REST API was paginated, how WordPress post types were mapped to Sanity document schemas, how image re-upload was handled (download → Sanity asset upload → patch document reference), and how the tool was made resumable to handle network failures mid-run.
Outcome
Placeholder — describe the result: how many posts/assets were migrated, whether the migration ran without data loss, any time saved compared to manual migration, and whether the tool was reused for other client projects.
